About the Therapists

Ashleigh Bryan, MS, LMFT

Ashleigh Bryan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in working with individuals, couples and families. She has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. Ashleigh owns and maintains Charlotte Therapy Associates, PLLC and has years of experience in working with a broad spectrum of clients in numerous settings including in-home therapy, therapy in the medical setting and private practice. In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Ashleigh works with individuals and families and has a passion for working with adolescents and young adults as well. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Ashleigh approaches her work with clients from a systems's prespective and strongly believes that change is possible and people seek good in their lives. In the therapeutic process Ashleigh will strive to develop a relationship with you based on trust, acceptance, honesty, encouragement and mutual respect. Goals will be set to work towards that are both realistic and meet your needs where you are, driven by what changes you wish to make. This process will utilize self-reflection, insight and promote gaining increased self awareness. This is your time to change and achieve what you want; therefore, you will be the director of your change process!

Her experience includes working with individuals, families and couples specifically with depression, trauma, adjustment issues, divorce, marital/relational strain, behavioral issues, grief and loss, anxiety, stress, and other psychological and relational problems. Ashleigh will pull from various theories in her work including Experiential, Systems, Attachment, Solution-Focused, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Kate van Wagenberg, MS, LMFT

Kate van Wagenberg is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is committed to the personal growth of children, individuals, couples and families. She has a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. Kate joined the practice in 2011 but has been working in the Charlotte and Gastonia areas for many years. She has experience working with a wide range of clients in multiple settings such as in-home, medical setting and private practice.

As a Marriage and Family therapist, Kate helps people explore and cope with problems according to their individual values and lifestyles. She believes therapy is a process devoted to growth and change. Kate has worked with individuals, couples and families coping with sadness/depression, anxiety/worrying, problems with adjustment, behavioral issues, parenting difficulties, stress, and trauma. She integrates methods from many clinical approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment, Experiential, Systems and Solution-Focused.

Diane Yee, MS, LPC

Diane Yee is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to working with adolescents and adults. She has a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Diane has been working in the Monroe area for several years in the community and in an outpatient setting servicing the MH/SA/DD population for a community mental health agency. She has held positions primarily as a Mobile Crisis Counselor and Emergency Services Counselor working in the community. Diane has also provided counseling services for individuals, couples and facilitated several counseling groups.

 Her experience includes working with a broad range of clients with various presenting problems such as trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, and addiction. Diane believes the counseling is a process which can promote growth and change. Her goal is to create an environment in which a client feels safe and supported during this process. She integrates methods from many clinical approaches including Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Rose Richardson, MA, LMFTA

Rose Richardson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate committed to working with adolescents, families, adults, and couples.  She has a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a certification in Addictions Counseling from Appalachian State University. 

When working with Rose, she will create an open and trusting space that fosters the personal growth of her client’s. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, she practices from a system’s perspective, and believes that her job is to remain as objective as possible. Rose believes that change is a result of finding a balance between thinking and feeling when in the face of anxiety. Additionally, the ultimate process of change occurs when the client can find balance and increase their ability to distinguish between thinking and feeling within the self and others. When practicing, Rose integrates multiple theories into her work such as: Bowenian, Experiential, Solution Focused, and Attachment. Goals will be set depending on what the client needs, and the process of therapy will entail moments of self-reflection, esteem-building, emotional regulation, and stress management.
